A suppressor reduces muzzle blast; it does not eliminate firearm sound.
A suppressor contains expanding propellant gases at the muzzle long enough to reduce the pressure and sound released into the surrounding air. Ammunition, action noise, projectile flight and the host firearm still affect the result.
- Caliber rating must support the cartridge.
- The barrel or muzzle-device interface must match.
- The suppressor mounting system must match the installed interface.
